An off duty deputy from Douglas delivered a baby girl on Hwy 90 in route to Sierra Vista. Both mother and baby were transported to SVRHC by ambulance. This was the Deputy’s own wife and child involved.


Adam De La Cruz was arrested in Elfrida and jailed for Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Drug Paraphernalia and a prohibited Dangerous Weapon.

A resident of S. Hwy 181 in Sunizona was assaulted outside his trailer. Investigation continues.

Jan. 24, 2013

Richard Wymbs, age 53, was arrested and jailed in Douglas for driving with a suspended driver’s license and driving under the influence. His vehicle was impounded.

Leona Lucille Owens, age 76, died at her home in McNeal from complications from current medical conditions.

Jan. 27, 2013

A report was made of stolen solar equipment from E. Haymore Ranch Road in Douglas. The value of the theft is almost $3,000.00.

Leonel Pereida Martin, age 22, was arrested in Douglas and jailed on three outstanding warrants for Failure to Appear.

Jan. 28, 2013

An 11,000 gallon water tank was stolen from property at N. Casita Vallejo Dr. in Douglas. Value of the tank is $800.00.

Jan. 29, 2013

Francisco Montoya, age 24, was arrested and jailed in Douglas for Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Possession of Narcotic Drugs for Sale, Transportation of Narcotic Drugs for Sale, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Forgery and Possession of Forged Written Instruments.

Patricia Mary Nyberg, age 51, was driving DUI and rolled her pickup truck on Middlemarch Road in Pearce. The vehicle was totaled, Nyberg was jailed for Extreme DUI, Aggravated Assault and Resisting Arrest.

Jan. 30, 2013

A vehicle flipped onto its side on N. Central Rd. in Sunsites after the right front tire blew out. There were no injuries.

Reyes Zavala Olivas, age 36, an illegal alien, was arrested and jailed in Douglas for possession of cocaine.

Jan. 31, 2013

Three to four males kicked open the door to a reported stash house in Douglas and assaulted eight undocumented aliens. The men threatened, intimidated and assaulted the aliens. The matter is under investigation.

Antonio Delgado Ramirez was arrested and jailed in Douglas for an outstanding warrant out of Florida for Failure to Appear.

Roberto Fernandez, age 23, was arrested in Pirtleville and jailed for an outstanding warrant for Failure to Comply.

Feb. 2, 2013

Timothy Sanchez was cited for driving in Douglas with a suspended driver’s license. His vehicle was impounded.

Feb. 3, 2013

Juan Carlos Enriquez, age 18, was arrested and jailed in Douglas for Domestic Violence/Assault and Disorderly Conduct.

Pablo Ricardo Palma, age 86, died in Douglas from apparent natural causes.

Feb. 4, 2013

Jacqueline Lugo, age 19, was arrested in Pirtleville for Domestic Violence/Assault.

Rolled over semi on Davis mm 1.2. No injuries. Driver was checked out by medics. Semi was carrying vegetables. Barnett's Heavy Tow was called and they issued 2 wreckers, but it was not enough and a wrecker from Tucson had to assist. Semi was blocking both lanes.

Ray Miramontes, age 23, was arrested and jailed in Douglas for outstanding warrants for Failure to Pay and Failure to Complete Substance Screen Evaluation.

Feb. 5, 2013

Marco Antonio Corrales Rea, age 28, was cited in Douglas for driving on a suspended driver’s license. His vehicle was impounded.

Andres Gutierrez-Salinas, an illegal alien, age 20, was arrested in Douglas and jailed for Resisting Arrest, Felony Flight, and Smuggling.

Feb. 6, 2013

An elderly driver stopped for gas in Elfrida and left without paying. The vehicle was later stopped at the Hwy 191 Border Patrol checkpoint where the driver was detained until deputies arrived and escorted the driver back to Elfrida to pay for the gas.

Jesus Antonio Vega, age 21, was cited for driving in Pirtleville with a suspended driver’s license. His vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

A resident of S. Catclaw Rd. in Sunizona reported someone had broken into his residence through a piece of Plexiglas above his AC unit and stolen various food items.

Rigoberto Martinez, age 19, was stopped on W. Brooks Rd. in Douglas and arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana for Sale, Transportation of Marijuana for Sale, Involving a minor in a Drug Offense, Smuggling a UDA under the age of 18, and fleeing a pursuing law enforcement vehicle.

Feb. 8, 2013

James Stutz, age 35, was arrested in Sunsites and jailed for Domestic Violence/Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Damage.

Feb. 9, 2013

Miguel Daniel Luna, age 20, was cited in Douglas for driving with a suspended driver’s license. His vehicle was impounded.

Feb. 10, 2013

Orlando Mahtapene-Chavez was cited at the Pearce Border Patrol checkpoint for driving without a valid license. His vehicle was impounded.

Mary Luke, age 43, was arrested in Elfrida and jailed for Domestic Violence/ Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Damage.

Feb. 12, 2013

Two illegal aliens were apprehended on Prince Rd. near McNeal and jailed for transporting marijuana into the United States.

Linda Nixon Trujillo was driving in Douglas with a suspended driver’s license. She was cited and her vehicle was impounded.

Kristopher Lopez, age 18, was arrested in Douglas and jailed for Trafficking in Stolen Goods.

Feb. 13, 2013

There was a report of horses in the road in the Leslie Canyon and Old Ranch Rd. area.

Adalay Mendez Medina, an illegal alien, age 26, was arrested in Pirtleville after a pursuit and cited for, Felony Flight, Resisting Arrest, and Endangerment. He was turned over to USBP for Human Smuggling offenses.

Horses were again reported on Leslie Canyon and were removed by a deputy.

Feb. 14, 2014

Kathleen W. Levin, age 58, passed away at her home in Elfrida from unknown causes.
