U.S. Customs and Border Protection Announces Citizen’s Academy in Bisbee

Border Patrol agents from the Tucson Sector’s Brian A. Terry and Douglas Stations as well as CBP officers from the Douglas and Naco Ports of Entry will host an integrated CBP Citizen’s Academy in Bisbee beginning Jan. 30. Participants will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for seven weeks, concluding on March 13.


The program is designed to provide members of the community with an inside look into the daily operations of securing the border– at and between the ports of entry – in Arizona. Throughout the course, attendees will be able to participate in interactive demonstrations such as defensive tactics, tracking, and inspections for prohibited items. Participants will also learn about each CBP component’s distinct roles and responsibilities as well as their integrated mission to secure America’s borders.

This program is offered at no cost to participants and all class materials will be provided. Please note that a background check is required and applicants should be in good physical health.

CBP is committed to fostering a positive relationship within the communities we live and serve. Outreach programs such as the Citizen’s Academy, seeks to promote cooperation, collaboration and understanding with border residents.
