According to Douglas Fire Chief Mario Novoa the call came in around 3:20 a.m. in the 1800 block of Apache Dr. The DFD was the lone department to respond.

The chief said the family escaped through a side window and one of the family members was transported to Southeast Arizona Medical Center for evaluation.

Chief Novoa said the trailer is a “total loss” and the occupants are staying with other family members for the time being.

Red Cross officials will also be stepping up to help the family if possible, the chief added.

No other trailers in the area were damaged and the cause remains under investigation
