DLL holds final registration By Bruce WhettenDouglas Dispatch The Douglas Little League will hold its final registration this Saturday in the building next to Ortega’s Sportsworld. They will also be registering players all week at Ortega’s Shoes. Saturday’s registration will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The registration fee is $75 for the first child and $60 for each additional sibling. Age groups this year are 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 years of age. A birth certificate and three proofs of residency are needed at the time of registration. League officials announced Saturday the tryout dates for the upcoming season. The 7-8 year olds will tryout Monday, March 18 at 4:30 p.m. at the Termite Field. The 9-10 year olds will tryout Tuesday, March 19 at 4:30 p.m. at the Little League Field across from the DHS gym. The 11-12 year olds will tryout Wednesday, March 20 at 4:30 p.m. at the same field. All make ups will be done at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 23 with the draft to follow. All new and returning players must tryout. The 13-14 year old division will take place pending the end of the high school season. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for Saturday, April 13.
