Former Douglas student accepted to AMDA

Former Douglas student Ivan Lorenzo McGrew was accepted to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy College Acting Bachelor of Fine Arts Program and the recipient of the AMDA Merit Scholarship.

Ivan Lorenzo McGrew is a class of 2009 graduate of Douglas High and alumni of Pima Community College in Tucson. His parents are Lorenzo McGrew and Airam Silva of Douglas.

The AMDA is a non-profit educational institution incorporated by the States of New York and California.

Admission to AMDA is extremely competitive; students come from all over the world and are selected from auditions held in more than 35 cities throughout the United States.

There are over 1,000 full time students enrolled at the two AMDA locations.

AMDA was founded in 1964 as a premier performing arts conservatory.

With campuses in New York’s Upper West Side and in the historic Hollywood district of Los Angeles, AMDA sits in the epicenter of the entertainment community making it uniquely suited to offer intensive full-time training and BFA programs in Acting, Musical Theater, Performing Arts and Dance.

McGrew will start classes in October and his focus will be in acting for film.
