The Douglas Lady Bulldogs track team had another solid performance last week coming in second in a quadrangular meet in Tucson.

Douglas’ 4x800 relay team of Emeri Melendez, Laura Hurtado, Elyzabeth Duarte, Karla Loreto came in first with a time of 11:05.
The 4x100 relay team of Zenaida Parra, Barbara Jordan, Kayla Fields and Melissa Rodriquez placed second with a time of 52.66 seconds.
Douglas’ 4x400 relay team of Elyzabeth Duarte, Fields, Marlene Gonzalez and Melissa Rodriquez finished second with a time of 4:38.
In the 100 meter hurdles Kayla Fields was first with a time of 17.58 seconds while Melissa Rodriguez was second with an 18.3.
Fields and Rodriguez also placed first and second in the 300-meter hurdles turning in times of 49.03 and 52.05.
Karla Loreto won the 800-meters turning in a time of 2:42.
Grecia Castillo won the triple jump with a jump of 35’1/2” and was second in the long jump with a 14’5”.
Jacind Villa placed third in the discus with a throw of 63’11”.
“The girls had another great meet coming off of Ted James,” Douglas’ track coach Donna Savill said. “As coaches we are seeing consistent marks from all athletes. We get a week off from meets which will be nice for some of the athletes who have some minor injuries.”
The Lady Bulldogs are back in action March 20 at Catalina.
