Douglas’ Youth Basketball League continued play last week despite the Douglas Unified School District being on spring break.

On Monday, March 11 the Ortega’s Clippers defeated the DECA Den Bulls 32-23.
Eric Anguiano scored 17 points for the Clippers while Nathan Grijalva had eight, Melanie Perez four and Alan Anguiano three.
Andres Robles led the Bulls in scoring with 14 points, Ryan Arzac had five and Mikey Quinonez and Anthony Ruiz each two.
In the second game the Backdrop Photography Heat defeated the KDAP Knicks 48-30.
Adrian Ruiz and Julian Encinas each scored 10 points for the Knicks, Jenny Buelna followed with eight and Jonathon Keat had two.
Jude Romero led the Heat in scoring with 22 points, Mikey Lomeli had 12, Francisco Ballesteros six, Miguel Ballesteros three, Jose Ballesteros and Andrea Rodriguez each had two and Damien Robles one.
On Wednesday, March 13 the Mi Ranchito Celtics beat the David’s Plumbing Thunder 38-30.
For the Thunder, Jesus Ruiz had 15 points, Jose Ruiz 13 and Oscar Sodari 2.
Jesus Martinez scored 16 points for the Celtics, Sergio Molina had 10, Josh Ranck four and Paige Mariscal, Diego Machado, Aldo Alonso and Isaac Mendez each two.
On Friday March 15 the Deca Den Bulls edged the David’s Plumbing Thunder 38-37.
Robles led the Bulls in scoring with 13 points, Arzac had seven, Anthony Mora six, Andrea Mora and Arnold Burquez each had four and Anthony Ruiz two.
Artie Acosta scored 18 points for the Thunder, Jose Ruiz followed with 12, Jesus Ruiz three and Ashley Calhoun and Andreas Ellinas each had two.
On March 3 the Ortega’s Clippers handed the Backdrop Photo Heat its first loss.
Lomeli led Backdrop in scoring with seven points, Romero had six, Adrian Dominguez, Jose Ballesteros and Adrian Dominguez each had four, Francisco Ballesteros and Miguel Ballesteros each had two and Andrea Rodriguez one.
For the Clippers, Anguiano scored 20, Grijalva 10, Melanie Perez two and Isaac Mendez one.
In the second game the Mi Ranchito Celtics beat the KDAP Knicks 41-30.
Jesus Martinez scored 23 points to lead the Celtics, Paige Mariscal had six, Josh Ranck and Diego Machado both had five and Aldo Alonso two.
Jesus Encinas scored eight points for the Knicks, Aaron Arias, David Rodriguez and Adrian Ruiz each had six and Alan Cruz four.
On March 5 the Thunder picked up their first win beat the Knicks 29-27 in double overtime
Scoring for the Knicks had Cruz with 10 points, Encinas eight, Arias five and Marco Buelna four.
For the Thunder, Jose Ortiz scored 11 points, Jesus Ruiz seven, Art Acosta and Ashley Calhoun each had four and Oscar Sodari three.
In the night cap the Backdrop Heat beat the Deca Den Bulls 30-13.
Lomeli scored nine points for the Heat, J. Ballesteros six, Romero four, M. Ballesteros, F. Ballesteros and Rodriguez each three and Ryan Partain two.
For the Bulls Robles scored six points, Arzac three and Adrian Beltran and Anthony Mora each had two
On Friday March 7 the Celtics beat the Bulls 30-17.
Sergio Molina scored 19 points for the Cetltics, Marcos Robles had three and Mark Rodriguez, Mariscal, Ranck and Albert Galindo each had two.
Arzac scored seven points for the Bulls, Mora four, Arnold Burquez three, Michael Quinonez two and Robles one.
In the late game the Clippers beat the Thunder 37-30.
Grijalva scored 19 points for the Clippers, Anguiano had 14, Perez and Alan Anguiano each had two.
Ruiz scored 12 points for the Thunder, Acosta nine, Ortiz five and Sodari four.
Games continue this week in the Paul Huber Gymnasium.
