As of Friday, Aug. 9, the Cochise County transfer fees have increased. Residential, municipal, commercial and business waste fees in- creased from 0.026 cents per pound to 0.02675 cents per pound. This increase also effects tires from the general public (passenger tires up to 20” diameter five free per year). The increases were made to help cover the costs of operating the Solid Waste System for
Cochise County. Per ton fees increased from $52 to $53.50. This change twill affect the Benson, Bisbee, Douglas, Sierra Vista and Willcox transfer stations. There will be mini- mum fees of $4 for normal waste and $25 for special waste handling and disposal. There are no free dump days scheduled for the rest of the year.
