The Finance Committee has reviewed the proposed fiscal year 2019-2020 operating budget and will present their recommendations to the Douglas City Council at the June 12 regular city council meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. in the City Hall council chambers.
Prior to the regular meeting, a 5 p.m. special meeting has been scheduled where DPD Police Chief Kraig Fullen and Cochise County Planner Christine McLachlan will make a presentation to the mayor and council regarding an annexation strategy for Douglas. The proposed annexation would include the proposed new port of entry site, Pirtleville and Bay Acres.
Other items on the agenda at the regular meeting include getting some direction on a possible investigation into inappropriate disclosure of potentially privileged communications by elected officials or city personnel.
Also on the agenda is a request from a local resident concerning allegations of City Charter violations.
Several resolutions and ordinances are also expected to be discussed.
