Independent voters registered on the Permanent Early Voting List are reminded they must choose a party ballot to be able to vote in the upcoming primary election.
Eligible residents should have received a notice from the Cochise County Recorder’s Office telling them they are not registered with a political party and will not receive a ballot unless they respond.
Voters are asked to return their notice, indicating whether they would like a Republican, Democrat, or Green Party ballot, for the August 28 primary election.
Citizens can also use the notice to cancel mailing of early ballots, to change their mailing address or update their residence.
Anyone who signs up to be on the Permanent Early Voting List will receive early ballots for all future elections they are eligible to vote in. It also allows voters to complete and return their ballot from the convenience of their own home.
To sign up for the Permanent Early Voting List, or for more information, call the Cochise County Recorder’s Office at (520) 432 8350.
