A now former City of Douglas employee was arrested recently on drug possession charges.
According to Officer Jamilette Barrios of the Douglas Police Department Jose Ramon Grijalva was arrested following an investigation by the Douglas Police Department Investigations Division.
Ofc. Barrios said the investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at his place of residence at the 1500 block of Cochise Drive in the early morning hours of November 7. The search led to the discovery of cocaine, a narcotic substance, and additional paraphernalia associated with street level sales.
Grijalva was arrested and booked into the Cochise County Jail on the following charges:
Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Possession of Narcotic Drugs for Sale, Transportation for Sale of a Narcotic Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Grijalva, who was employed by the city at the time of his arrest, has been released on his own recognizance. He is no longer employed with the City of Douglas.
