The Douglas Art Association will be hosting an open house this Saturday from 4-6 p.m. at The Gallery on 10th Street.
The Preciado family will be displaying their works throughout the month of June.
Jose and Ramona Preciado and their six children transitioned to Douglas nearly 10 years ago to be closer to friends and family.
Over the years their children have demonstrated artistic talents in drawing, painting, and sculpture. The Preciado siblings started drawing at a very young age, with the younger siblings learning from their older brothers and sisters.
The eldest of the six siblings, Onzi, 19, was the first to attend art classes at Douglas High School, followed by Dara, 18; Daniel, 17; Abisai, 16; and Gerson, 15. Eighth grader Abdiel Omar, 13, also plans on attending art class at DHS this next year.
The Preciado siblings have created an array of art pieces, but are inclined to realistic pencil drawings, specifically portraits, and paintings of nature.
The public is being invited to attend the open house.
