Representatives from the Greater Douglas Chamber of Commerce (GDCC) were on hand Friday, Jan. 31 when T-Mobile officially opened its doors at 94 West Fifth Street, right across the street from Walmart.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was done just before the store officially opened its doors for the first time at 10 a.m. Store manager Juan Arellano did the honors while his staff, as well as members of the GDCC, and the Douglas City Council, were on hand for the event.

According to T-Mobile’s HR Department, T-Mobile is bringing a whole new level of freedom and choice to wireless customers in Douglas. And it’s following a revolutionary network enhancement.

“T-Mobile’s new Douglas location will allow customers to choose the service plan and devices that best serve their wireless needs – from T-Mobile’s unlimited Essentials and Magenta plans to a line-up of all of today’s best smartphones, tablets, audio devices and accessories – backed by T-Mobile’s nationwide LTE, and now 5G, network experiences,” store representatives said in a statement emailed to the Douglas Dispatch. “This past December T-Mobile lit up the first nationwide 5G network in the U.S., covering more than 200 million people and more than 5,000 cities and towns all across the country, including Douglas.

“This is the country’s biggest 5G network, covering more than 1 million square miles, much of that in rural America. And If the merger with Sprint closes, the New T-Mobile will be able to build on this foundation to deliver transformational broad and deep 5G for All. T-Mobile’s 5G network on 600 MHz provides a critical low-band foundation, which can cover hundreds of square miles from a single cell site, provide the wide area coverage necessary to cover more people in more places, and work indoors and out, across America.”

Store officials have announced monthly taxes and fees are included in T-Mobile’s Magenta Plans, so the price customers see is the price they get – just $40 per line for a family of four with AutoPay – and not a penny more.

Customers can stream all the music and video they want with T-Mobile’s unlimited data plans and customers with two or more lines on a qualifying T-Mobile Magenta plan get Netflix on Us.

Stay connected while abroad with unlimited text and data roaming in 210+ countries and destinations, plus unlimited calling, texting and data in Canada and Mexico.

T-Mobile customers also get unlimited texting and one hour of free in-flight Wi-Fi on Gogo-enabled flights in the U.S.

Customers get thanked with free stuff every week with T-Mobile Tuesdays, just for being a customer. That includes access to Live Nation perks, like discounted tickets, free tacos from Taco Bell and discounts on gas from Shell.

If you have an employee, affiliate, or military discount with your current wireless carrier, T-Mobile will match that discount up to $15 for single lines and $30 total for two or more lines.

First responders, active and retired military – and their families – can get deeply discounted Magenta Plans with unlimited talk, text and smartphone data. Customers who are 55 or older can get great deals on Magenta Plans too.

For award-winning customer care, T-Mobile customers get access to T-Mobile’s Team of Experts. No more robots, automated menus or getting bounced around to different departments. It’s customer care specific to the customer and their community, and available when, where and how you need us!

Store hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The Douglas store will have eight employees all of whom will live in Douglas. The phone number is (520) 645-5535.
