As the summer heat intensifies local residents are doing what they can to keep cool.

On Friday, June 14 the outdoor pool at Veteran’s Park officially opened for the summer. Local youth wasted no time in getting into the water where they were able to swim and try some different poses as they dove off the diving board.

Admission fees to the pool this year are $1 for children 0-5-years-old; $1.50 for youth 6-17-years-old; $2 for adults 18-61-years-old and $1.50 for seniors 62-years-old and above.

The pool at the Veterans Park will be open Thursday through Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

A Family Night swim night is also scheduled for this Friday, June 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Swimming lessons are currently underway at the Aquatic Center with another session to follow June 25-27. Call 417-7346 for more information or stop by the Aquatic Center or the Veteran’s Park pool.
