A microburst hit Douglas Sunday evening bringing with it, heavy rain and gusting winds.
It also left some damage behind as it left the city.
At the Eighth, 10th and 15th Street Parks, several trees were damaged; some completely uprooted.
A home in the 600 Block of Florida lost its cooler while another on Ninth Street had a neighbor’s trampoline wind up in their backyard, snapping their internet wire in the process.
Someone’s shed in the 2100 Block of Eighth Street was taken off its base.
Douglas High School also sustained some damage to its trees and tents as a result of the storm.
The National Weather Service reported Monday afternoon that some areas of Douglas had .68 inches of rain while another part of town had 1.2 inches of rain. Wind gusts were estimated to be between 60-65 miles per hour.
Both the Douglas Police and Douglas Fire Departments are reporting there were no injuries as a result of the storm and no water rescues.
