Faras Elementary in Pirtleville held an end of school fiesta on Tuesday, May 9.
Inside the multipurpose room at the school there were three different types of jumping castles, a variety of games, face painting and free hot dogs and snow cones for the students as well as their parents.
Faras Principal Fernando Morales said this event has been held since before he became principal at Faras and it’s a way to celebrate the end of the year.
“The teachers put up a booth, the jumping castles come from PTSO; A&R Photography is here giving out free snow cones and we also have free hot dogs,” he said. “This is not just for the kids but also the parents.”
Morales said this event is always scheduled on a early release day and lasts no more than two hours.
“This is kind of a great stress reliever,” he said. “Plus it’s a great community builder and the kids seem to have a lot of fun. Everything here is free; the kids can come in and have some fun for a few hours.”
