Harold Dees, 96, went to be with his Lord on September 27, 2019.
He was born in Paint Rock, Texas on December 30, 1922 to William and Josephine Dees. He is survived by his daughter, Jean Monical (Stephen); grandchildren Bryan (Sabrina), Scott (Jennifer) and Jon Monical; great-grandchildren, Brice, Samantha, Sarah, Derrick and Blake; and brother Earl (Ellen).
He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Foncie; his son Sam (Diane); and eleven of his twelve siblings, Cleo, Bessie Mae McMurry (Chet), Juanita Zerby (Hank), Rosealee Mortenson (Owen), Douglas (Doris), Milon (Phyllis), Joe (Bonnie), Charlie (Betty), Clara May, Mary Lois Mortenson (Raymond) and Audrey Pearl; and many nieces and nephews. He served his country in World War 2 in the Army, 1st Cavalry Division, 7th Cavalry Regiment. He served in the Philippines and the occupation force in Japan where he guarded the Imperial Palace. He worked for the Phelps Dodge Smelter in Douglas, AZ as a crane operator and foreman for 42 years.
He was an active member of the Church of Christ in Douglas and Tucson. He loved God, his family and his brothers and sisters in Christ.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 3, at 9:30 a.m. at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 E Grant Rd. Military honor guard internment to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.
