It’s Fair time once again.
The 94th annual Cochise County Fair kicks off tomorrow and runs through Sunday.
We encourage those of you who can to go out and enjoy the fair this year.
Dominique Valenzuela has replaced Karen Strongin as the General Manager at the fairgrounds. Both she and her board of directors have worked hard to bring in some quality entertainment this year.
Two Texas Longhorns, who are named Show Gun and Shot Gun are making their first ever trip to Douglas and will be on hand all four days. There will also be a Mutton Bustin’ event on Sunday for the youth as well as the ever-popular mechanical bull.
In addition to that there is the Cochise College rodeo Friday and Saturday that will feature cowboys and cowgirls from “our” team that are coming off impressive performances at the College National Finals Rodeo this past summer.
And don’t forget about the 4-H and FFA livestock shows which will be followed by the sale on Sunday.
This year’s fair is being dedicated to John and Ellie Vaughn, longtime supporters and volunteers for the fair.
Each year the fair helps our economy as those involved in the event will shop at our stores and stay in our hotels while they are visiting our community.
As Douglasites let’s do our part to welcome our out of town guests but also get out and enjoy all the events that will be happening at the fair this year.
