This May won’t look like any other in recent memory. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t still important occasions to note. The Douglas Education Partnership Council is joining with Expect More Arizona and countless other groups across the state to participate in two statewide days of celebration:
- May 4-8 - Arizona Teacher Appreciation Week
- Wednesday, May 20 – Arizona Graduate Recognition Day
Our community’s educators have sacrificed so much this spring as they transitioned to distance teaching and we honor their hard work. Every level from preschool through college has been impacted, but all teachers are focused on ensuring student success.
Spring 2020 graduates might miss a traditional ceremony, but their hard work has not gone unnoticed. Whether they’re promoting, completing high school or a PhD, it’s a huge milestone that deserves recognition.
These celebrations will look different than in past years, but that doesn’t mean they should pass unseen. To help people celebrate, Expect More Arizona has compiled many resources, including social sharing images, ideas on how to celebrate and more. All of the materials are available at bit.ly/CelebrateAZ, with materials also available in Spanish.
We love our students and teachers and wish you all the best moving forward!
The Douglas Education Partnership Council is a local collaboration between community leaders and Expect More Arizona to advance a shared vision for education in Douglas and the state. We all believe that every child deserves an excellent education – every step of the way.
