Bulldogs kick off Kino League play

The Douglas Bulldog junior varsity and varsity baseball teams kicked off their summer Kino League play last week with a pair of games.

On Thursday, June 6 the Bulldogs were in Tucson where they defeated Walden Grove 6-4 and Sahuarita 8-1.

In the game with Walden Grove, Jose Ruiz hit 2 for 2 and Aiden Rodriguez was 2 for 3.

Against Sahuarita, Alexis Favela and Ruiz both were 2 for 3, Damian Robles was 2 for 2 and Jay Zamora 1 for 2.

Douglas’ junior varsity lost to Sahuarita 10-5 and beat Marana Mountain View 4-2.

Antonio Herrera hit 2 for 2 for Douglas against Sahuarita. Robert Perez was 1 for 2.

Diego Alan Martinez hit 2 for 3 and had two RBI’s against Mountain View. Emilio Martinez was 2 for 2.

The varsity Bulldogs will play CDO and Nogales this Thursday at 5 and 7 p.m. at Reid Park in Tucson and will host a club team called Blue Chip in a single game Saturday at 11 a.m. at Copper King Stadium.
