Central Arizona College, who eliminated the Cochise College Apaches in the Region 1 semifinals May 2-3 at Cochise, is headed to the Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colo. after winning two more regional playoffs.

After sweeping the Apaches, Central Arizona took two of three games from Yavapai College winning the Region 1 championship.

This past week the Vaqueros defeated Lamar College 20-5 and then won two straight games from the College of Southern Nevada winning 13-5 and 16-7 earning the right to play in the World Series which starts May 25.

Central Arizona, 45-19 overall and winners of five straight, was the fourth seed going into the regional playoffs.
