DHS golfers have busy week

Douglas High School’s golf team had a busy week last week playing three matches in four days.

The Bulldogs kicked off the week hosting the Sahuarita Mustangs at the Douglas Golf Course on Monday, Sept. 9. The match had originally been scheduled for October but was rescheduled.

Douglas lost the match to Sahuarita 190-199.

Jay Zamora led the Bulldogs shooting a score of 39. Colton Boone followed with a 46, Victor Oviedo shot a 47; Aiden Rodriguez 57 and Trent Foreman 58.

On Wednesday, Sept 11 the Bulldogs hosted a Palo Verde team that was short on players and did not record a team score. Zamora shot a score of 44 this match while Boone and Rodriguez recorded scores of 50. Oviedo shot a 51; Foreman a 56.

On Thursday, Sept. 12 the Bulldogs were in Tucson taking on Cholla at the El Rio golf course.

Cholla shot a 180 this match; Douglas 199.

Zamora led Douglas with a score of 41; Boone shot a 50; Oviedo 51; Rodriguez 58 and Foreman shot a 60.

The Bulldogs are off this week and will return to action the following week hosting Salpointe on Monday, Sept. 23 and Walden Grove on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
