DHS runners run at state

Because Douglas did not qualify as a team, Barco and Rico ran as individuals in the group of 178 runners and did not factor in the overall team scores.

Zoey Delgado of Salpointe High School in Tucson was the overall state champion, winning the race with a time of 18:40.9

Barco finished in 93rd place, finishing with a time of 22.43.8. Rico followed finishing 134th, with a time of 24.23.3.

Prescott was the overall team champion in the girl’s race, followed by Salpointe and Ganado.

In the 4A state boy’s race, the Bulldogs failed to have anybody qualify for state.

Rio Rico’s Roshan Tinoco-Miranda was the overall individual state champion turning in a time of 15:53.4. He was followed by Johnathon Lane of Walden Grove who recorded a time of 16:09.2.

Page was the overall team champion, followed by Prescott and Monument Valley.
