The Cochise College Lady Apaches fell from the ranks of the unbeaten last week falling 72-54 to Central Arizona College in Coolidge.

The loss was the first of the season for Cochise, 7-1 overall and 2-1 in conference, and the sixth straight win for Central, 7-1 overall, 3-0 in conference.

With the loss, the Lady Apaches drop into a five-way tie for second place with Eastern Arizona, Mesa, Phoenix and Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

Cochise fell behind early trailing 20-8 at the end of the first quarter and 35-19 at the half.

In the second half the Lady Apaches stayed fairly even with CAC getting outscored by two, 37-35.

Cochise had just two players score in double figures this game. Kayla Harris scored 12 points for Cochise, Vinisha Sherrod chipped in 11.

The Lady Apaches have two huge road games this week, taking on Arizona Western College in Yuma on Wednesday, Dec. 4 and Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher on Saturday, Dec. 7.
